FAQs

Q. How much will this computer training cost me?

A. Excluding the time that you spend upgrading your skills, there is only a $30.00 registration fee per session.

Q. What's the catch?

A. Trust us; there are no catches. We are a not-for-profit service agency staffed primarily by volunteers who are willing to provide their time as a service to our community.

Q. How do I sign up for a class?

A. To sign up for a class just call 630.679.6899.

Q. Is there an income qualification to be able to receive this training?

A. No. Anyone in need of training will be welcome to receive training.

Q. How long are the classes?

A. Our teaching cycles last 6 weeks. Each Computer class meets one day a week for 90 minutes a day. The Resume and Interview Skills class meets 1 day a month for 2 hours. Forklift class requires a week. Reach Truck requires several days.

Q. How do I qualify to receive food?

A. We only require an Illinois ID or some documentation showing you live in Illinois. We ask for a suggested donation for each of our food pantries.  You are not purchasing the food. The food is free. You are being given the opportunity to partner with us to help support all the great programs at Power Connection. Giving is a great thing. Our families are happy to assist our pantry through their donations. The suggested donations link us all together as we serve our community together.

Q. How do I volunteer?

A. We are always looking for more individuals and groups to partner with us. Call Maryann at 630.679.6897 and let her know your availability and what you would like to do. She will be happy to schedule you based on your availability. We are very flexible. We want you to feel fulfilled through your volunteerism.
